Al Ain Court for Civil, Commercial and Administrative cases ordered a man to pay Dhs1 million to another man who had filed a lawsuit against him, seeking a ruling obligating him to pay him Dhs1 million, plus 12% legal interest from the date of claim until full payment.
The plaintiff said that the appellee had asked him to hand over sums of money to be repaid to him with profits, so he transferred Dhs1 million to him, but the latter evaded repaying it when requested, which prompted him to file the lawsuit.
The judge overseeing the case appointed an accounting expert, who stated in his report that the complainant had transferred Dhs1 million through his bank account to the appellee, and that no documentary evidence was established for the reason for transferring this amount, nor was it proved that the appellee had paid any sums to the complainant, as none of the parties to the case submitted any documents indicating payment.
The court ordered the complainant to take the decisive oath, which he swore in the required form, thereby proving that his liability was occupied by the aforementioned amount, so the court obliged him to pay the complainant Dhs1 million.
