UAE leaders offer condolences to King of Norway over death of Harald V

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a message of condolences to King Haakon VIII of Norway, over the death of King Harald V.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, also sent similar messages of condolences to King Haakon VIII.

King Harald has died at the age of 89, the royal house said, making his son Haakon the new king of Norway.

“King Harald passed away peacefully at Oslo University Hospital on Friday, 28th August, 0635 (local time, 0435 GMT),” the royal palace said on its website.

Harald, who was Europe’s oldest living monarch, was taken to hospital on Aug.17.
