DUBAI: Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, crowned the winners of the UAE Bodybuilding Championship, held at The Agenda in Dubai Media City.
The event was attended by the federation’s Vice Chairman Ali Abdullah Bin Haider, board members, a large number of Emirati and resident athletes, senior sports officials, enthusiastic spectators, official partner Eisa Al Dah, and representatives of the championship’s sponsors.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, the championship featured intense competition across various categories, highlighting the remarkable technical standards achieved by bodybuilding in the UAE.
The event attracted a strong field of competitors, showcasing the sport’s continued growth and popularity.
In the prestigious contests, Abdulrahman Ahmed Al Yassi claimed the Classic Physique title, Nasser Ali Barman won the Classic Bodybuilding crown, Salem Abdulmajeed secured the Men’s Physique title, Jamal Jassim Ali was crowned Muscular Physique Champion of Champions, while Omar Ahmed Al Shehi emerged as the Bodybuilding Champion of Champions.
Elsewhere, UAE national team athlete Ali Dhawi Al Naqbi won the gold medal in the Masters (Open Height) category and also claimed the silver medal in the Men’s Physique competition.
Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi expressed his pride in the success of the championship, attributing it to the collective efforts and spirit of cooperation among the organizing committees.
“We are proud of the success achieved by the championship through teamwork and cooperation among all the organizing committees. We extend our thanks to the sponsors and partners for their continued support, and to the athletes for the outstanding technical performances they delivered,” he said.
“We also express our appreciation to the large number of spectators whose presence played a vital role in the success of the UAE bodybuilding community’s flagship event and in highlighting the status of the sport.”
Mohammed Abdulrahim Al Marri, Board Member and Secretary-General of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, said the championship was a success both organizationally and technically, describing it as an important platform for discovering new talent and enhancing competition among athletes, which would strengthen the UAE national teams ahead of future international events. He also praised strategic partner The Agenda for its role in the event’s success.
Tournament Director and Federation Board Member Ahmed Johar said the high technical standards displayed by the competitors reflected the significant progress bodybuilding has made in the UAE. He added that the strong turnout of spectators, particularly families, created an exceptional atmosphere throughout the championship.
Johar also noted that the opening ceremony, which combined sport with Emirati heritage, the participation of guests from several Arab countries, and the high-quality accompanying exhibition all contributed to delivering a comprehensive edition that reflected the championship’s stature and its ability to attract different segments of society.
The opening ceremony featured performances by the Shihuh Traditional Arts Troupe, presenting the traditional Al-Rawah and Al-Nadba arts under the leadership of Abdullah Saeed Al Shehi. Former UAE national football team stars Faisal Khalil and Bashir Saeed attended as special guests, joining the award ceremony and posing for commemorative photographs with the winners, participants, and fans.
