Abu Dhabi Criminal Court sentenced two men to six months in jail and fined one of them Dhs100,000 after being convicted of disturbing public order on a public road.

The court sentenced one of the defendants to six months in jail and ordered his vehicle to be confiscated after he had driven a vehicle equipped with warning lights used in emergency vehicles on a public road without being legally authorised to do so.

The court also sentenced the other defendant, the manager of a company specializing in the trade of security systems, to six months in jail and fined him Dhs100,000 after it was proven that he supplied the first defendant’s vehicle with an emergency systems device without authorisation.

The court ordered the company’s contents related to the goods sold to the first defendant to be confiscated.

Meanwhile, he Abu Dhabi Judicial Department urged members of the society to comply with legal regulations with a view to reflecting social responsibility and contributing to enhanced public safety as part of an integrated digital monitoring system to support efforts to curb illegal practices.

The department also warned owners of establishments and trading companies against selling devices intended for emergency vehicles and installing them on private vehicles.
