
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai, have launched an online portal to book appointments for passport, attestation and other consular services. The Indian mission announced this on Sunday afternoon. Applicants can book an appointment at the portal, book.passportindiauae.com, informed the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai.
The applicants holding prior appointment will be allowed entry 15 minutes before the appointment time. In order to avoid crowding, only applicants will be allowed entry inside the Embassy and Consulate premises, except for minor applicants where both parents are required to be present.
The entry in the Embassy in Abu Dhabi for applying for CPV services will be from the main gate of the embassy located at Al Safarat Street, Abu Dhabi. All queries and clarifications, including those related to delivery of documents, will be addressed at the Consular Wing located at Unit No. 101, 1st Floor, Guardian Tower (Technip Building), Al Ishirah Street, Abu Dhabi, informed the embassy.
The entry at the Consulate General of India in Dubai for applying for passports and visas will be from Gate No. 2. The applicants wishing to avail of attestation services may enter from Gate No.1. All other queries like delivery of documents, queries for already submitted applications, labour issues etc will be entertained from Gate no.1.
Sensing the need of the hour, walk-in services, on a limited scale, will be available from 9am to 11am at the premises of the Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai. Priority will be given to newborn cases and emergency certificates. All other service seekers are encouraged to book appointments in order to avoid long waiting time, stated a press release.
To ensure smooth service delivery, applicants have been asked to adhere to guidelines, like visit with completely filled application forms and all supporting documents. Fill the passport application form at mportal.passportindia.gov.in/mission/, read the instructions carefully before uploading photographs, signatures and documents, it said. Applicants must ensure signatures or thumb impressions are uploaded correctly against a clear white background. Carry exact change, as fees will be accepted only in cash.
Applicants have also been reminded about the new passport fee structure that has been in effect since July 1, 2026. Booking an appointment in advance is recommended to reduce waiting times and help ensure smoother processing of consular services.
Authorities also urged applicants to follow key guidelines for smooth processing, including:
— Submitting fully completed application forms with correct supporting documents
— Filling passport applications via mportal.passportindia.gov.in/mission
— Ensuring clear upload of photos, signatures, and thumb impressions on a white background
— Paying fees in cash only, preferably with exact change
— Noting that new passport fees effective from 1 July 2026 are applicable

Officials said the updated system is aimed at making consular services faster, more structured, and more convenient for the Indian community in the UAE, while ensuring priority support for urgent cases.
