INCAS Youth Wing UAE organises WC-themed friendly tourney in Dubai

Celebrating the global passion for football and reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility, the Sports Wing of Indian National Cultural and Arts Society (INCAS) Youth Wing UAE successfully organized a World Cup-inspired friendly tournament at the Star International School Stadium in Dubai.

The event brought together four teams representing celebrated footballing nations—Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, and France—in an exciting showcase of competitive sport, community engagement, and youth empowerment.

The tournament commenced with a powerful message of solidarity against substance abuse. Participants collectively voiced their support for the ongoing anti-drug awareness campaign led by Ramesh Chennithala, the Home Minister of Kerala, India.

Prior to kickoff, all players, officials, and attendees took a solemn anti-drug pledge, underscoring the organization’s dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles and civic responsibility among the youth.

The event was presided over by Shafeeq Musthafa, Chairman of the Sports Wing, and was officially inaugurated by Patron Member Sanish Kumar. Demonstrating the community’s united front, Sreekumar M. Balachandran, General Secretary of INCAS Youth Wing UAE, administered the anti-drug pledge during the opening ceremony.

Following a series of high-energy matches, Team Brazil, captained by Shyam Kumar, emerged victorious after a thrilling final. The championship trophy was jointly presented to the winning team by Haider Thattathazhath, Founder Leader of the Youth Wing and IYC UAE Chairman, alongside Firos Kanhangad, President of INCAS Youth Wing UAE.

The high-profile tournament was well-attended by senior office bearers, community leaders, and patrons, including Treasurer Melbin Joseph, Working President Rinu Mathew Pulimoottil, Vice Presidents Naja Kabeer and Abdul Haneefa, and INCAS Dubai-Ernakulam Committee President Abdullah Sayani.

Patron Members Jijo Chirakkal Mathew, Mirshad Nullippady, and Jamshad were also present to support the initiative.

The event concluded as a vibrant celebration of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and shared values. By seamlessly blending sporting excellence with a critical social cause, INCAS Youth Wing UAE reaffirmed its long-term commitment to fostering youth engagement, inspiring healthy living, and strengthening the bonds of unity within the Indian expatriate community across the Emirates.
