Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to abide by safe driving guidelines during summer as part of the Safe Summer awareness campaign and the Ministry of Interior’s Summer without Accidents campaign.
This initiative is part of Abu Dhabi Police’s efforts to enhance road safety, prevent accidents and achieve the strategic priority of Smart Road Safety.
Stressing the need to conduct a regular vehicle inspection before setting off, Abu Dhabi Police explained that there were six guidelines for safe driving during summer.
These include checking fluid levels, making sure that safety equipment is available, avoiding to drive with a hot steering wheel, making sure that tire pressure was correct and in good condition, avoiding to leave flammable materials inside the vehicle and parking the car in shaded areas, they added.
Abu Dhabi Police indicated that abidance by these guidelines would contribute to raising safety levels and reducing sudden breakdowns and road accidents during summer, calling on drivers to be responsible and abide by preventive measures to preserve their safety and the safety of road users.
