Abu Dhabi Police, in co-operation with Abu Dhabi Monitoring and Control Centre, have underlined the importance for motorists and road users to abide by civilised behaviours that reflect the bright image of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
They urged motorists and road users to refrain from littering from vehicles while driving to protect the environment, public health and the civilised appearance of the emirate.
Littering from vehicles is a traffic violation under Article 71 of the Traffic Law and incurs a fine of Dhs1000 plus six black points against the offending driver, they said.
Abu Dhabi Police called on motorists to underscore the necessity for their passengers to dispose waste and litter in the designated areas and to commit to positive practices with a view to enhancing environmental safety, maintaining public cleanliness and avoiding environmental pollution.
