Sharjah Charity spent Dhs10.5 million during Eid Al Adha Campaign

Sharjah Charity revealed that it spent Dhs10.5 million during its seasonal campaign “Eid Al Adha Campaign,” during which a package of humanitarian projects was implemented with great support and cooperation from philanthropists and benefactors from individuals, entities, and governmental and private departments, in addition to supporting future charitable projects worth Dhs1.9 million.

The Society reported that the number of beneficiaries from all projects and initiatives of the campaign reached nearly half a million people.

The campaign’s main projects included sacrificial meat, along with several other projects and initiatives to support low-income individuals inside and outside the UAE.

Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, stated that Eid Al Adha campaign achieved remarkable success through the unprecedented support it received since its launch during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, extending his sincere thanks to all participants in the campaign’s success, and to the work teams in various committees of employees and volunteers.

Sheikh Saqr mentioned that the campaign’s projects included the distribution of sacrificial meat, totaling 25,150 sacrifices, with 3,450 sacrifices inside the UAE benefiting up to 34,500 people, and 21,700 sacrifices distributed among 217,000 beneficiaries in 51 countries around the world, at a cost of Dhs9.1 million, making it the largest sacrificial campaign in the Society’s history.

Eid Al Adha campaign initiatives included the distribution of 15,000 meals as part of the “Feeding the Workers” project at sunset on the Day of Arafat, at a cost of Dhs225,000, Sheikh Saqr pointed out.

He added that the campaign also included sending about 140 low-income individuals from inside and outside the UAE to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, in addition to covering the debts of 15 insolvent individuals behind bars due to financial cases, at a cost of Dhs700,000.

The initiatives allocated during the ten days also included providing treatment for 3 medical cases at a cost of Dhs300,000, Sheikh Saqr added.

The Society plans to implement several charitable initiatives during the third quarter of 2026, including launching a campaign to perform 50 catheterisation operations for children with severe heart diseases in Kenya at a cost of a Dhs250,000, through a medical team led by Emirati doctor Ahmed Al Kamali, a pediatric cardiology consultant at Al Qassimi Women’s and Children’s Hospital, in addition to allocating Dhs500,000 to cover 700 dialysis sessions for kidney failure patients at the Sharjah Charity Dialysis Clinic, according to Sheikh Saqr.

The donors’ contributions also covered the project of building a mosque in the near future to accommodate 216 worshippers, a network to provide water in remote areas in the Kyrgyz Republic, and building a charitable village in the Philippines which will include a mosque and 25 houses to shelter the poor, 4 classrooms to enrich and support the educational process in the region, an artesian well to provide water for residents of remote areas, and a vocational training centre to serve as the first building block in the stage of empowering beneficiaries and transforming them into skilled professionals, in addition to building 6 charitable buildings.

Sheikh Saqr concluded indicating that the Society is preparing for a number of major projects in the coming period, represented by the “Bardan wa Salama” (Coolness and Peace) campaign and “Back to School”, passing through the National Day initiatives, adding that with the support of Dubai Islamic Bank, the Eid clothing initiative was implemented for needy families.
