The Sharjah Charity Association has allocated Dhs3 million to implement the “Bardan wa Salama” (Cool and Safe) campaign, through which 3,000 pieces of home furniture, such as air conditioners, which are indispensable during the summer when temperatures rise and needy families are unable to provide these appliances, leaving them to face severe humidity, will be distributed.
Mohammed Sulaiman Al Manna’i, Director of the Aid Department at the Association, stated that approximately 300 families registered in the housing aid lists have been identified to provide them with necessary home furniture, emphasising that the campaign is a true reflection of the Association’s humanitarian commitment and its keenness to support groups most affected by weather fluctuations and high temperatures, by providing essential protection and comfort means which help them perform their daily tasks.
The Association’s aid teams are currently continuing their field survey, preparation, and coordination work in preparation for the distribution of appliances to beneficiary families throughout the summer, he added. “We continue throughout the year to provide housing aid which meets the needs of needy families and supports their living stability, by providing essential supplies that contribute to enhancing the elements of a decent life inside homes,” Al Manna’i noted, adding that these efforts come within the Association’s vision aimed at improving the quality of life for beneficiaries and alleviating the burdens they face. The campaign also includes 1,200 summer bags to be distributed to workers at their workplaces to protect them from the heat of the sun, in appreciation of their efforts in improving the environment, he added.
Recently, Sharjah Charity International distributed 15,000 Iftar meals at sunset on Arafat Day to workers and needy families in several locations within the Emirate of Sharjah, as part of its seasonal initiatives implemented during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, known as “Arafat Day Meals”.
