The camp was held at Zayed Sports Complex in Fujairah and featured the participation of 91 male and female players from the Under-13 and Under-15 age categories.
The camp forms part of a long-term Olympic development strategy aimed at identifying and nurturing national talents capable of representing the UAE in regional and international competitions.
The programme is designed around specialized training methodologies that incorporate the latest technical and athletic development practices.
The training program was supervised by Danish High Performance Director Michael Noerbaek, alongside coach Nathan Rice and UAE National Team coach Mahmoud Tayfour. The camp included intensive technical and physical training sessions focused on enhancing players’ performance levels and refining their skills through a modern scientific training approach.
Salem Khamis Al Mazrouei, Vice President of the UAE Badminton Federation and Chairman of the Technical Committee, emphasized that the camp represents a key milestone in the federation’s strategy to develop a future Emirati Olympic champion by building a strong foundation of young players and providing integrated development programs guided by world-class expertise.
Mazrouei stated: “We are working under a clear long-term vision aimed at preparing an Emirati Olympic athlete capable of competing at the highest international level. These camps represent one of the main pillars of our talent identification and development system, where we focus on enhancing the technical, physical, and mental capabilities of players in accordance with the highest international standards.”
He added: “We firmly believe that investing in younger age categories is the most effective pathway toward future achievements. We highly appreciate the continuous support provided by the UAE Committee for Sponsoring Sports Talents and Supporting National Sports, which plays a vital role in implementing high-quality programs that strengthen the progress of UAE badminton and support its Olympic ambitions.”
The camp witnessed strong enthusiasm and engagement from participating players, reflecting the federation’s commitment to providing a professional training environment that contributes to discovering promising talents and developing their abilities in preparation for future inclusion in the UAE national team programmes.
This training camp is part of the federation’s broader plan to enhance the player development system and increase competitiveness across all age categories, in alignment with the UAE’s vision of supporting sports talents and creating future champions capable of achieving success at continental, international, and Olympic levels.
