In a historic achievement that further cements its status as a dominant force in the UAE’s combat sports scene, Fujairah Martial Arts Club successfully retained the Overall Judo Excellence Shield for the fourth consecutive season at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 campaign, delivering an unprecedented display of technical and numerical dominance across both the boys’ and girls’ divisions, as well as the national judo titles.
This deserved triumph came after an exceptional season that began last September and witnessed intense technical competition. Fujairah’s male and female champions rose above the rest, with the club topping the overall standings of the Boys’ Shield with 1,320 points — nearly double the tally of its closest rival. The girls’ team was equally impressive, claiming the Girls’ Shield with 1,080 points and reaffirming their superiority over competitors. Adding to this gold-laden record, the club also captured 7 out of 13 national judo titles.
A technical analysis of this season’s results confirmed that Fujairah Martial Arts Club’s superiority has become an entrenched institutional culture and the result of a carefully planned strategic approach.
This was reflected in the club’s complete dominance and perfect record in 9 boys’ cups and 6 girls’ cups across various age categories, particularly in cadet and junior divisions. The achievement highlights the club’s possession of the strongest grassroots base locally and a strategic talent reserve capable of sustaining success for years to come.
Commenting on the club’s historic golden achievement, Nader Abu Shawish, Director of Fujairah Martial Arts Club, expressed his pride in the remarkable accomplishment, stressing that winning the overall shield for the fourth consecutive time reflects the unlimited support and wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, whose continuous guidance and follow-up have placed Fujairah at the forefront of the sporting landscape.
Abu Shawish added: “Maintaining the top position in judo in the UAE for four consecutive seasons, with unwavering determination in both boys’ and girls’ competitions, proves to the sporting world that Fujairah’s excellence is not a temporary phenomenon, but rather the result of a professional system that breathes the spirit of podium finishes and works with a unified team mentality.”
He also extended his sincere appreciation to the technical and administrative staff, stating: “I am immensely proud of all the coaches and technical and administrative teams who worked tirelessly and managed the season with high tactical intelligence, preserving our champions’ physical and mental readiness throughout the past months. You are the backbone of this success.”
Abu Shawish concluded by praising the athletes: “The true secret behind this success is our sons and daughters — the players themselves — who displayed exceptional fighting spirit on the mat and lived up to the responsibility entrusted to them. This shield is the result of your hard work and dedication. We promise our leadership and fans that this achievement is not the end of the road, but renewed fuel to continue pursuing gold and supplying the national teams with champions who will raise the UAE flag high at international events.”
