Abu Dhabi activates paid parking system in 3,921 parking …

Starting Monday (May 18,2026), the third phase of the paid parking system will be activated, encompassing 3,921 parking lots in Musaffah area of Abu Dhabi.

These parking lots are distributed across the following sectors: M5 (661), M6 (710), M21 (1,100), M22 (800) and M23 (650).

Designated parking spaces for people with disabilities are also included, reflecting Q-Mobility’s commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility with a view to ensuring easy access and convenience for all users in the area.

The activation of the system, under the regulatory supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), comes as a continuation of the gradual expansion plan that began in January 2026. This is part of ongoing efforts aimed at regulating the use of public parking spaces and enhancing the flow of traffic in key areas of the emirate.

Musaffah is one of the most important industrial and commercial areas, witnessing high traffic due to the diversity of economic and service activities and the influx of large numbers of workers and visitors daily, which enhances its position as a vital industrial and investment centre.

With the increasing demand for public parking, some challenges have emerged related to the difficulty of finding parking spaces and random parking, which affects the flow of traffic and limits the efficiency of mobility within the area.

The implementation of the third phase comes as part of efforts aimed at addressing these challenges by regulating the use of parking spaces to reduce congestion and random parking and improve the flow of vehicle traffic with a view to easing the access of vehicles to all facilities and enhancing traffic safety.

This step also supports economic activity by easing the movement of visitors and workers, stimulating commercial activity and creating a more organized and efficient work environment.
