Pakistan’s former MP Shahabuddin awarded for promoting peace in Bajaur

President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred Sitara-e-Imtiaz on former Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shahabuddin Khan Salarzai for promoting peace and stability in Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.

The government gave the prestigious award in recognition of Salarzai’s remarkable contributions toward promoting peace, stability, and development in the historically sensitive region of Bajaur.

Earlier, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi awarded presidential civil awards to 33 persons during a ceremony held at the Governor’s House in Peshawar on Wednesday.

An official statement said that the governor awarded eight persons with Sitara-e-Imtiaz, two with the Presidential Award for Pride of Performance, 11 with the Tamgha-e-Shuja`at, while 12 others were conferred upon Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.

In the field of public service, the KP governor awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz to Shahabuddin Khan, Gilgit-Baltistan chief secretary Arshad Majeed, SSP Attaur Rahman.

A respected political figure and former MNA, Shahabuddin Khan Salarzai, has long been acknowledged for his leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service. His efforts in fostering unity, reconciliation, and social harmony in Bajaur have earned him widespread respect across political and tribal circles.
