Forty-one individuals have been arrested over alleged links to terrorism-related activities, the Bahraini Interior Ministry announced on Saturday.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministry said security services uncovered an organisation allegedly linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and the ideology of Wilayat Al Faqih, following extensive investigations and intelligence operations.
Authorities said the arrests were based on evidence gathered through previous Public Prosecution inquiries into cases involving communication with external parties and support for what was described as ‘blatant Iranian aggression’.
Legal proceedings are now underway against those arrested, while authorities continue search and investigation operations to identify others suspected of involvement in the organisation or any activities deemed to be in violation of the law.
