A humanoid robot is being deployed in parts of China to deter illegal parking, offering a glimpse into how technology is reshaping everyday urban management.
The machine, designed to resemble a human security officer, patrols busy streets and residential areas, identifying vehicles that violate parking rules.
When it detects an infraction, it approaches the driver or nearby pedestrians, issuing verbal warnings and instructing them to move the vehicle immediately.
Equipped with cameras, sensors, and artificial intelligence, the robot can scan license plates, record violations, and transmit data to local authorities in real time.
In some cases, it also relays penalties directly through connected systems, reducing the need for human enforcement officers. Officials say the initiative aims to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and ensure safer streets without increasing manpower.
