Abu Dhabi shuts Al Ain eatery for violating food safety laws

Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) shut down “Al Domyati Snacks” establishment in Al Amerah, in Al Ain region, Abu Dhabi Emirate, which holds commercial licence (CN-5531477), for violating Law No (2) of 2008 concerning food in Abu Dhabi Emirate and the legislation issued thereunder, as well as for its danger to public health.

ADAFSA clarified that the food control report stated that the administrative closure decision against the establishment came as a result of repeated food safety violations and the failure to implement effective corrective measures, which necessitated immediate action to ensure food safety and consumer health.

The administrative closure order will remain in effect until the reasons for the violation are removed, with the possibility of resuming activity after the establishment’s conditions are fully corrected and all food safety requirements are met, AFAFSA clarified.

It also indicated that the administrative closure and the disclosure for violations are part of its plan to enhance the food safety system in Abu Dhabi and subject all food establishments to periodic inspection to ensure their compliance with requirements, with a focus on proactive consumer protection and ensuring all establishments adhere to food safety requirements.

ADAFSA urged the public to contact it and report any violations observed in any food establishment, or when in doubt about the contents of a food item, by calling the Abu Dhabi government’s toll-free number 800555, so that its inspectors can take the necessary action to ensure safe and wholesome food for all members of society in Abu Dhabi Emirate.
